It’s stimulus spending, right?

Maybe all we have to do is advertise how wonderful the new federal budget’s going to be, and the economy will boom like it’s 2004 again:

When Finance Minister Jim Flaherty announced this week that March 29 will be federal budget day, the very first words out of his mouth heralded the coming “Jobs and Growth Budget.”

If the phrase sounds vaguely familiar, it should.

Taxpayers are footing the bill for a $12.4-million government ad campaign with one common message: “creating jobs and growth.”

Well, that’s $12,400,000 dollars that’s going to advertisers, marketers, graphic designers, and &c. that they wouldn’t otherwise have received, right?  They’re going to take that money and spend it, and other people are going to get more money than they otherwise would, and spend that, and… and… circular flow!  Multiplier effect!

Sheesh.
