My name’s Matt. I’m a geek, an individualist, and often angry. This is my blog.
I’m also a verbal arsonist, an economic-minded misanthrope, entertaining or informative or both, wonderfully acerbic and independent of thought, and meta-silly; my posts are the kind of stuff Marko reads for intellectual stimulation. (I’m, er, not entirely devoid of narcissism.)
You should have a better explanation of yourself than that. :)
Hello,
Question about your Blog
I am writing in the hopes of opening up a communication channel with your blog (if you are interested).
We are a blog and website that is frequently writing about topics that are beer and spirits related (usually from a label perspective).
We are always looking for interesting content/posts to mention and link to on our blog and website. As such, if you post something you feel is very unique/interesting on your blog, please let me know via return email.
We are happy to give it a mention on our blog and send a link to it your way.
We are serious about quality content and I think that our content generation is creative and high quality (ie. we don’t blogspam).
Here is a link to something that we did recently that has generated a lot of interested:

I look forward to hearing from you.

Been reading (had lots of time… insomnia is setting in with the loss of a job).
And speaking of time… do you mind if I inquire how all this started, how much it’s cost you to maintain such a site and how you do it? I figure I can do one of two things, keep plugging away a jobs that don’t pay until I am used up or maybe contribute something, somewhere. Who knows, maybe I should apply for a treasury opening — couldn’t do any worse than the people there now. Well, I could, but then you’d have to admit I had a talent for something.
Thanks for the blog!
Something for the economist in you to chew on

I don’t think that, for example, Art Laffer would’ve been at all surprised to find people evading laws and regulations. Or Tim Harford, for that matter. Talking about “what economists believe” is sort of like talking about “what religious people believe” — you run out of general agreement pretty quickly.

Hello Matt –
I am making an HD video documentary on the transition to renewable energy. I would very much like to use the photograph of the coal-fired generation plant (fart).
Where did you get the pic? Where is it? Is there a higher resolution versions of it? Best would be 2000 pixels wide.
Keep on truckin’

Good luck — I found it somewhere on Google Image Search. I have no idea about higher resolution versions, and the copyright is almost certainly going to be unfriendly to your purposes.
Dude. You’ve disappeared.
Come back.
Hmm. Maybe.
The basic problem is that I did my best writing when I was angry about things I really couldn’t change, and I’m pretty happy not being the Angry Libertarian Guy. On the other hand, I have a pretty substantial backlog of saved posts in Feedly that aren’t going to get written about anywhere else.
Hi Matt,
100% agree regarding the give a shit deficit. We talk about it a lot too.
How can we get in touch?
