Classic British one-upmanship

All y’all remember “Helicopter Ben” Bernake, right?

Helicopter Ben

Well, the Brits seem to have found out about this upstart Colonial plot to drop a million dollars out of a helicopter, and are one-upping Us Across The Pond with a million Euros on a military transport:

Somebody got trolled, I’m just not sure who.

The article is spectacularly dumb – the typical innumerate journalist who doesn’t have any real idea of the difference between millions and billions.

There are 3,000 British Troops on the island, and there have been since before I was born. They have to be paid. The banks are shut. They live on-base, on a hundred square miles of British Sovereign territory. I think the personnel department is capable of getting a couple of hundred quid to a few thousand squaddies without reenacting either the A-Team movie or the California gold rush.
