I push pressed 170 today. This is the first time that I’ve taken a bar, loaded to weigh more than I do, and put it at arm’s length overhead. (I could probably have split jerked bodyweight a month or two ago, but my gym doesn’t have bumper plates so I’ve been neglecting the quick lifts.) The bar didn’t go up pretty — it stalled at about head height for a couple of seconds — but it went up all the way. (And then I deadlifted. Good times.)
Next milestone: 225, maybe in a year or two. After that, with any luck, I’ll find a proper Olympic lifting gym and can start working on snatching bodyweight.
