      Yep.

There’s something about Porsche’s flat-vee powerplants that makes ’em sound like sex and victory. The only other engines I know of that sound so priapistic and carnassial are Mazda’s 13B and Renesis and the optimized late-stage F1 turbo mills from 1987 and ’88. The super-revvy naturally-aspirated F1 powerplants we’ve had since ’89 sound pretty good, and I love the way diesel prototypes sound like fuckin’ space ships, but Porsches and Wankels and turbos (oh my!) are in a whole ‘nother league.
