Rangel steps down, Massa to retire

What a pleasant way to end the week.

First off, Charlie Rangel — my favourite tax-cheating Tax Code-overseeing legislator and bulbous bow-tie model — has stepped down as chairman of the House Ways and Means committee:

Nancy Pelosi immediately replaced Rangel with Pete Stark, whose previous tax-evasion escapades immediately qualified him for the role but made him perhaps less than appropriate under the circumstances.  Within a day, Stark was out on his ass, to be replaced by mercantilist asshole Sander Levin.  We can but hope that the bloodletting continues.

Next, it turns out that Eric Massa, the grandstanding shitbag from (where else?) New York, will resign under the shadow of an ethics scandal.  He’s blaming anomalies that may or may not be scar tissue for his sudden exit.  How many fuel-cell cars will he drive back to N’Yawk?

Bye, fuckers!  Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on your way out!
