Since I’ve already addressed the weekend’s (excellent!) racing here and here, I’ll confine myself to other topics today. You know what that means, don’t you? Car porn!
——
First, we head to Japan for Subaru’s new Legacy B4-based Super GT car:

Super GT (also known as the All-Japan Grand Touring Championship, for those of you who’ve played a bit too much Gran Turismo) is Japan’s top grand touring series, and features purpose-built silhouette racers that are based on production cars in much the same way that the movie of Starship Troopers was based on the book. That’s an unfair comparison, though, because Super GT cars are quick.
How quick?
This quick:
——
Of course, “quick” is relative. That Super GT car is a lot quicker than, say, my parents’ Prius, but still nowhere near as quick as the Formula One cars that raced at that very same Fuji Speedway last fall. “Quick” inevitably opens room to quibble — quick for this car, quick for this driver, quick for these conditions, and so on. But a 6:48 lap around the Nürburgring Nordschleife is simply fucking fast.
Did I mention that the SR8LM is street legal? Yeah, they drove it to the ‘ring, set a record, then drove it home.
