Beers of Milwaukee, vol. 23

If a picture is worth a thousand words, here’s a beer review in one thousand sixty-two of them:

That’s Sierra Nevada’s Torpedo “extra IPA” being overshadowed by Stone Brewery’s Ruination IPA.  Torpedo is a perfectly good beer, and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it if I couldn’t find Ruination, but it amounts to about 80% of the Stone beer in every significant way.

Where do you find Stone beers in Milwaukee?

Arrogant Bastard seems to be everywhere. Ruination and the like are harder to find, but I’ve had good luck at Ray’s in Wauwatosa and Elm Grove Liquor in Brookfield. You can probably also get it at Otto’s in Milwaukee proper, by the UWM campus.

Thanks for the tips. I’ll be visiting Brew City this w-end and hope to sample some local brews and whatever else I find that I can’t get my hands on in Des Moines. I used to live in Tosa, so I remember Ray’s fondly. Thanks again. Cheers.

Which is why I like the Torpedo more- Stone’s most aggressive offerings are all just a bit too much of a muchness for my palate.

If you can get it where you are, might I suggest getting your hands on some of Deschutes Brewery’s Twilight Ale? It’s a seasonal ale, so now’s the time to grab some, they stop selling it in September.
