Beers of Vancouver, vol. 13

It’s like Christmas all over again.

The Viti Wine and Lager store, I have just discovered, sells Road Dog porter (among other Flying Dog offerings) and — O joy!  O rapture unforeseen! — Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout, possibly my favourite beer of all time.  I never expected to find either on this side of the border.  (And if they stock Road Dog, they’re probably able to get Gonzo Imperial porter as well.)  The downside, of course, is that you’ll pay about twice what you would in the U.S.

Viti is, in general, a great place to buy good beer.  The selection’s small but hits all the high notes, and the staff are friendly and impressively competent.
